Mike has been a Graphic Designer for many years, but his passion has always been with Illustration and Fine Art, Mike's subjects and style are far reaching.
Mike developed his contemporary style whilst working with the publishers 'Washington Green' and varied his style a little with 'Buckingham Fine Art'

"I am always trying new styles and techniques, I believe it keeps the artist fresh and edgy.
I particularly love my hoodies which are part of the same genre as Peter Smith and Doug Hyde , two Artists who hold my deepest respect"

Mike Jackson Hoodies

Mike is probably better known for his Hoody character, this style of painting is often developed from a careful pencil study, then that is taken to a watercolour level where the colour can be established, finally an Oil painting is painted from these study aids. Often Mike will sell the pencil studies along with watercolour studies as they have their own artistic merit. We find that most people can associate with Mike Jackson's Hoodies, as they depict many aspects of love... love lost, love gained, and love in the family.

Urban Heart

This painting uses the modern theme of urban art in its title, with veiled references to Banksey in the urban paintings on the wall.
The two hoodies come together in love with their little pup who is declaring the love of his Mummy and Daddy to the World!

I remember playing with my younger cousin as we grew up together and this painting is a testimony of our love for each other... family is such a strong bond.

Mike Jackson Cottage Range
Whilst living in the beautiful Somerset, I feel so lucky to see such beauty around me. This naturally gives me so much inspiration. I cannot help but paint these pretty little cottage scenes whenever I get the chance... usually around 2.00am in the morning when all my family are tucked up in bed.
These pretty little paintings take advantage of the luminence and transparency of watercolour paints. By laying gentle washes over each layer initially working wet on dry, and then wet on wet as the image develops this lovely little image miraculously appears.
